Booger Diary

Walkable Cities Are Actually Swag...

The big friggin' apple

Went to NYC to visit a friend. This is the friend I went to Japan with - I love him very much. I'd never been to his place though.

I never made it over there because I found excuses to not go, and refused to live life to its fullest for whatever gay reason... Unfortunately, New York City is fantastic. I've never seen a place like it. Not even the hyper-modern cities in Japan are like NYC.

Nobody there's afraid to go outside. Not once did I feel like a weirdo for just using a sidewalk, or riding a bike in traffic.

It's normal there.

I'm from west-coast american sprawl. Over here, working age adults do not use the sidewalk. We use our cars.

The sidewalk is for 5am jogging, teenagers on electric dirt bikes, and the poor and desperate who cannot afford their own car.

We drive to the gym for walking. We drive to the store for eating. We drive to the bar for social outings every few months, and flip a coin to see who should operate the cold-unfeeling-machine whilst drunk.

We're afraid of looking strange. What if my neighbors see me walking to the grocery store? They'll think I'm poor or have a DUI probly WHO KNOWS.

It's like 3 miles away, that's like 4 hours maybe? What if I get approached by an armed psycho-murder-raper-hobo-immigrant guy?

No, thank you. I'll start up the Nissan Pathfinder. It's safe!

(I'm being sarcastic, if you didn't pick that up. I ride a bike, am sober and I'm gay.)

Egg Cream

Here's some shit I ate while over there:

And probably a buncha other stuff, but it was a blur, and I relish gluttony.

I love that city!

I biked through the majority of it. Friend showed me how to blow red lights like a professional.

-Thank you, DJ at The Stonewall Inn, for pointing me to the bar so I could buy a shirt. Sorry I thought you were the bar tender, I was nervous.

Futon Update

Yit's byeen like a month of floor futon now?

I've constructed a storage thing with 4 legs, and a small shelf on top of it to put the futon away in the morning.

Reason being I needed a place to put my comforter. I was putting it on the table with my cheap keyboard, and then I just stopped playing it because the blankets were on it when I got home.

A trip to home depot and a garage crashout later, I had my futon shelf.

Looks fine when it's full, but empty it looks like a shack you'd see on skid row. I's made of 1 inch dowels, deck screws, and a desk chair mat that I was going to toss.

Also installed hinge again, went on a single date, got discouraged, and deleted it again.

"What does this have to do with the futon?" you ask?

"Can you fuck in one?" I ask you.

Well maybe not fuck in, but fuck on.

I may never know, especially now that I also have the double-bubble-trouble of living-at-my-parents-again-itis.

I hate the term "getting dick"; it makes me feel ashamed of myself. I think of either hyper-gooners who have no shame or real social skills, progressives and women who think it's a cool thing to say to me for some reason, or the swaths of rap I've listened to that make "getting dick" seem like a mortal sin for any man to utter about himself.

It's a me problem for sure. Just a thought.

Makes me cringe.

...

Wieners are great, though. Don't get me wrong.
