Booger Diary

Grit

Blood

saw family a lot this weekend. Finally revisited one of my childhood homes, and caught up with my uncle. Weird to see that house again. It was very brief, and less romantic than I had anticipated. We left after about 20 minutes, and I didn't get too much time to really take in some of the memories.

Lots of paintings on the wall and pictures I haven't seen for years. Pictures of my parents, my family, my brother and I that I used to look at every day as a kid. Still in their same spots.

My old CRT tv is still in my old room. It has a dvd player built into it. The tree in the back yard got bigger. The upright piano still plays, and is still a little out of tune. Everything was much smaller than I remembered. I could actually see on top of the fridge and reach the microwave.

The coffee table is still there. I'd draw and play with toys on top of it. The whole place is almost exactly the same as when I was last there.

My grandmother who lives there has severe dementia, and requires assisted living. I'm glad she's getting the help she needs. It's sad to see her like that, but she was very happy to see my brother and I.

My mom wants us to go visit her dad before he dies. That'll be the next family outing; visiting my blood-related grandpa.

Getting old is weird.
